This one pattern will make picking out fall outfits a PICNIC
Picture a perfect picnic... what do you think evokes the feel of a picnic? The "checkered" blanket of course! Now think of this, the perfect stylish outfit to wear to the picnic, and now anywhere else...that is the power of Gingham and it's relative print called Buffalo Check. Since last September, Gingham and Buffalo Check have been climbing their way on the charts from being a seasonal trend to a classic staple. From high-end designers like Carolina Herrera and Calvin Klein to fast fashion retailers like Zara and H&M, Gingham and Buffalo Check are now staple fashion prints that is here to stay everyone! Yes, Gingham/Buffalo Check were and still are known as the "picnic pattern," but they have gone from gracing picnic tables to blouses, trousers, skirts and even shoes! Who would've thought our simple checkered tablecloth would be one of the biggest staple prints on the runway? Now, I know you're all thinking, "Isn't checkered prints out of season already?" The answer to that is absolutely NOT. Retailers are still selling these bold patterns and models are still strutting down the runway clothed in these checks which means, it's here to stay. An easy way to introduce Gingham to fall is styling a big cable-knit sweater with your printed blouse with some distressed mom jeans and ankle booties. You can even easily take your summer gingham dress or skirt pair it with a matching turtleneck, a chunky belt and a leather jacket. Just like that, you are on trend WITHOUT breaking your bank account’s heart since you are recycling your summer clothes for the new season! Here is how I transitioned some of my favorite Gingham pieces from summer into my fall wardrobe!
