The John Hopkins Hospital SAVED my life

Obviously, this is my Hairspray! debut as I’ve been waiting to go to Baltimore MY WHOLE LIFE to sing in the streets.

No... but seriously, I recently visited Baltimore, Maryland for a doctors appointment with a specialist at The John Hopkins Hospital. Being from the New Jersey/New York area, that’s a four hour drive which may sound crazy to travel for a doctor's appointment.  However, it was SUPER necessary.

The doctor I met with was Dr. Peter Rowe, and he was absolutely amazing.  He is known to be an EXPERT at understanding and managing treatments for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) which tend to go hand in hand really.  I’ll explain the syndromes since it’s not commonly known but definitely SHOULD be.  CFS is a debilitating condition where you feel fatigued constantly, and with POTS there is a reduction in your blood flow from your brain which can result in fainting, dizziness and brain fog.  POTS can also restrict you from moving your limbs to the full extent they should be reaching.  CFS and POTS are INSANELY common in most people and usually women for that matter. They can normally go undetected as medical conditions as people are the labeled as extreme tired or "lazy" by those unfamiliar of the syndrome.

Having all these symptoms and more, I can’t even explain to you how Dr. Rowe being the nicest man ever, took me on as a patient. You see,  he had not taken any new patients in over a year and was focusing on his CFS and POTS research.   After this visit, I realized that I’ve been mistreated for this condition for a while.   CFS and POTS are extremely serious and sometimes need to be treated with medication, a huge spike in salt, increased water intake (at least 2 liters daily) and a mostly milk free diet.  Also, physical therapy for some (ALL mentioned was prescribed for me... by the way).  If you stick to this regiment, you can have life altering results.   Imagine a day where your body does not ache at all and you live life as it should be!

Overall, my visit to The John Hopkins Hospital was so interesting and educational. Everyone was SO kind and welcoming. I am truly thankful that Dr. Rowe took me on as a patient.  I honestly think he his research will save my life from this condition.  If anybody believes they have these syndromes,  I HIGHLY recommend you contact Dr. Rowe;  he may be willing to take on more patients or put you in touch with someone in your area.  I urge you to get checked out by your doctor right away as your HEALTHY LIFE is waiting for you!

With love,

Calista

Health and Happiness awaits...
